New to crafting? Here's the whole system, minus the headache.
Professions are Neverwinter's crafting system. You hire artisans to craft gear, consumables, and materials at your Workshop. There are 8 professions: Adventuring, Alchemy, Armorsmithing, Artificing, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, and Tailoring.
Select a recipe, assign an artisan and tools, then start the task. Each task costs morale (your daily crafting energy). The artisan's Proficiency determines success chance, and Focus determines if you get a high-quality (+1) result. Higher quality ingredients and better tools improve outcomes.
Each artisan has unique stats: Proficiency (success rate), Focus (quality chance), Commission (cost modifier — negative is cheaper), Speed (time modifier — positive is faster), and a Special Skill with a chance to trigger bonus effects like double materials or instant completion.
Dab Hand: Chance to get double materials.
Miracle Worker: Chance for instant completion or no morale cost.
Passion Project: Chance to negate the commission cost.
Recycle: Chance to keep materials on a failed craft.
Virtuoso: Chance to use a supplement without consuming it.
Tools improve crafting outcomes. Quality tiers include basic, +1, Masterwork, Legendary, and Mythic Forgehammer. Legendary tools can boost high-quality success to 85%+. The Mithral Forgehammer guarantees success regardless of artisan stats.
An advanced crafting system with 5 tiers (MW I-V). Each tier has different requirements — MW I needs high-quality results (high Focus artisans), while MW II-V need normal results (high Proficiency, low Focus). Masterwork recipes produce the best craftable gear and consumables in the game.
Morale is your daily crafting energy. Most crafts cost 5 morale. It regenerates over time or can be replenished with items. Efficient morale use is key to maximizing profit — see the Profitable Crafting tab for the best gold-per-morale recipes.
